The chook pens displayed to the right hand of this page, are all constructed with 25mm x 25mm aluminium, which are really easy to dissinfect and keep clean. They can be constructed in various sizes, depending on how many chickens you have.
For the smaller property owner we have designed two models of a movable chook pen for you. The first one is our 'Standard' Mower. This unique design will house from 4 to 6 chickens. It has a full metal roof for protection from the elements. The back half is also enclosed with metal and has two laying/bedding areas. One is just off the ground for a laying area or for the newly hatched chickens to access their bedding and the other is a little higher for the older chooks in which to lay their eggs.
We suggest that straw or saw dust be added to these areas. One door is located at the rear for retrieving the eggs and there is another door on the side to allow access to the feed and water bowls, or to allow your chickens to free range.
At the back of the mower, there are two wheels which retract when not in use. These wheels when lowered, allow the ‘chook mower’ to be moved easily to another position on the grass, that way the chooks can graze, aerate and fertilize your lawn all in one easy action.
The standard mower is 1800mm long x 900mm wide x 900mm high, we can adapt the basic design to your individual requirements.
The next design in our range is called the 'Mini' Mower (as seen in the lower image to the right) . This is designed to house 1-3 larger chooks or 4-5 Bantams, with one laying/nesting area and measures 1800mm long x 900mm wide and 600mm high.
